In high school, Michael was heavily involved in music and band. He tried to stay active in sports on and off growing up, but ongoing battles with asthma prevented a lot of that from happening.
It wasn’t until college that those health issues were finally behind him, and the door to exploring the world of fitness had finally opened up. While studying Exercise Sports Science at Texas Tech, Michael was introduced to CrossFit by a close friend during the summer of 2013. After overcoming a 5 AM alarm to go see what it was all about, he was instantly hooked. Finally having an opportunity to grow as an athlete with a supportive community of people around him was a game changer.
After graduation, Michael came to visit CrossFit A1A for a workout and met Alisha and Jeff. He immediately knew that he had found the place he wanted to be at and the people he wanted to be around. Three and a half years later, he’s as happy as ever and looks forward to interacting with the diverse community of the gym each week.
When he’s not coaching a class or working out, you can find Michael in Frisco teaching English classes to the youth of America.
